The stomping grounds of Jim Baker, a mountain man, was in this small town of Savery. Jim is one of the few oldest Pioneers in the Rocky Mountains. In 1917 his cabin was transported to Cheyenne to be preserved as a lasting memory. Jim and his wife are buried one mile west of Savery. The Little Snake River Valley Museum is placed in an old shool house. Included in the exhibits are old clothing, books, and farm implements. In Savery there are supplies, groceries, and campsites with hookups. There are weekly roping events on the rodeo grounds during the summer.
The first community reached in Wyoming on Interstate-80, Pine Bluffs is on the old Texas Cattle Trail and at one time, about 1884, was the largest cattle shipping point on the Union Pacific Railroad. read more
The community was named after a New York health resort because of the natural hot springs found in the Saratoga area. read more
