05-31-2007 Tourism Pods and Blogs

Cheyenne, Wyo - 5/31/07 - More than fifty new podcasts have been posted and readied for download on a greatly expanded Wyoming tourism website. “This is something we wanted up and running for the summer season and hope that many visitors will take advantage of today’s technology to see what type of experience they are going to have here in Wyoming,” said Curtis Lund, iManager for Wyoming Travel & Tourism. “We think the variety of video podcasts will give many visitors options they may not have previously considered during their stay with us,” said Lund.

Video podcasts range in length from under a minute to a full blown seven–minute musical tour of the state with Dubois guitarist Mike Dowling. You can get the feel for a dude ranch vacation, learn about yodeling from one of the best there is - Cody resident Bob Loper - or get a firsthand look at how eight touring cars have been made road-ready for Yellowstone this summer. Other items include dinosaur and fossil digging options around the state in addition to several reports covering state-sponsored pro rodeo contestants who competed at the National Finals Rodeo last December.

A new member of the Wyoming Travel & Tourism rodeo team is U.S. Air Force Captain Jeremy Sparks who is the only full-time military member also carrying a pro rodeo card. Capt. Sparks is stationed at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne and is a professional bullfighter. He will be protecting bull riders next at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, June 10-16. The state tourism website will feature daily blogs from Capt. Sparks beginning this Friday, June 1, when he embarks on a weeklong family camping trip in northwestern Wyoming.

The Blogging Bullfighter and new podcasts can be found on the state tourism website at: www.wyomingtourism.org
